Calisthenics

Group doing calisthenics exercises outdoors in Alcalá at sunset

A relaxed but focused outdoor calisthenics class set against the coastal backdrop of Alcalá. Just a short bus ride from Los Gigantes, it’s an easy midweek reset with fresh air and a solid workout.

What to expect

Sessions run every Thursday at 6pm, usually timed to catch the cooler evening air and, on clear days, a bit of golden hour. Expect a mix of push-ups, pull-ups, core work, and mobility drills, all scalable to your level.

The group is typically small and informal — a mix of locals and regulars — so there’s plenty of room for guidance and adjustments. No equipment needed beyond what’s already in the park (bars, benches, open space).

Practical tips

  • Arrive 5–10 minutes early to warm up and meet the group
  • Bring water — there’s little shade during warmer months
  • Many are bare foot, but trainers are also okay
  • Bus connections from Los Gigantes are straightforward (around 10–15 minutes)

What I’d skip

Overthinking your fitness level before going. The session is adaptable, and beginners won’t be out of place — just show up and scale as needed.
